Former Army General Atta Hasnain Is New Chancellor Of CUK
Srinagar: Former General-officer- in –command (GoC) Lt General Syed Atta Hasnain (retd) has been named chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir.
President Ram Nath Kovind cleared name of the former army officer for the post, a statement issued by the Registrar, CUK Prof Mohammad Afzal Zargar said. Hasnain will serve as Chancellor for a five-year term.
Hasnain, who retired as GoC of army’s 15 Corps will be replacing chancellor and renowned nuclear scientist Srikumar Banerjee.
