7 DDC Members Stay Away From Meeting In Baramulla
BARAMULLA: In a dramatic development, as many as seven elected members of the district development council Baramulla on Monday stated away from a meeting chaired by its chairperson Safina Baig.
Sources told that all three elected DDC members of Peoples Conference, two from Peoples Democratic Party, one from Congress and an independent member stayed away from the meeting.
The development comes at a time when some DDC members are mulling to bring a no- confidence motion to remove the chairperson.
“We are consulting legal experts to bring a no- confidence motion,” an elected member told.
Interestingly, two members of NC attended the meeting. These two NC members were also accused by a Congress leader of voting against PAGD candidate during the DDC chairperson election held in February this year, sources said.
Pertinently, Safina managed to bag the post of chairperson with help of PC, Apni Party and others. Three members of PAGD had also voted against their candidate. (KDC)
