Vigilance Organization Kashmir Books ARTO Shopian

Srinagar: Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) today registered a case of disproportionate assets against ARTO Shopian Abdul Majid Bhat resident of Charsoo Awantipora at present Bagh-i-Mehtab here.

VOK registered the case under FIR No.25/2018 U/S 5(1) (e) r/w 5(2) PC Act 2006 against Bhat who holds additional charge of ARTO Pulwama.

“During the course of investigation the search warrant was obtained from the court today. The searches were carried out at four locations simultaneously viz SSL Cardboard factory at Hariparigam Tral, Dawat restaurant Awantipora and two residential houses of alleged accused at Bagh-i-Mehtab Srinagar.

During the course of search, currency notes amounting to Rs. 33 lakhs. and Rs. 99,000 of demonetized old currency. Besides Gold ornaments weighing more than half Kg. and vehicle Ford Fortuner bearing registration no. JK01V/ 0057 white coloured were also seized. Other incriminating material having bearing on the FIR registered has been seized by the team of Vigilance organization Kashmir,” VOK said in a statement.

“Moreover, bank account pass books, ATM cards etc in the name of the accused and his family member have been taken into possession having bearing on the subject matter which are being perused and further investigation is on,” the statement added.
