Two JeM militant associates arrested, Awantipora police claims

Srinagar: Awantipora police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two associates of (JeM) Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit from Pampore and Tral areas of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

The duo have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Chopan resident of Wagad Tral and Mursaleen Bashir Sheikh resident of Chatlam Pampore.

According to police statement, “both are involved in providing shelter, support, logistics as well as in transporting of arms/ ammunition of the militants in Pampore and Tral area and passing sensitive information to the Militants of proscribed outfit JeM” adding “incriminating material has been recovered from both the arrested persons.”

A Case F.I.R number 96/2020 and 90/2020 stands registered against the said arrested persons in Police Station Tral and Police Station Pampore respectively under relevant sections of the law.
