Tral’s Gulistan village demands construction of sports stadium


Villagers want installation of mobile tower

Pulwama, Jan 29 : Residents of Gulistan area of Tral have demanded construction of a sports stadium and installation of a mobile tower in their area.

Locals of Gulistan village said that state land is available in the village and it can be transformed into a playfield.

Local players told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that they are forced to go to Satoora, Batagund and other areas to play as no such facility is available in their area.

Ashiq Hussian a local athlete said that the RDD department has constructed stadiums at many places but their area has been ignored as of now.

He said that there is an immediate need for a sports stadium so that youth can be engaged in sports activities so as to keep them away from drug addiction.

Locals said that youth from every area nowadays have been showcasing their talent in the sports field but here in the absence of facilities, they have been suffering.

Also, locals said that mobile network connectivity is very weak due to which people, especially students, have been facing problems.

They said that earlier two mobile towers were sanctioned but both were given to the Hajin area—(KNO)
