Traders Association Qazigund protest outside Emergency Hospital, Qazigund

Qazigund: Traders Association Qazigund on Monday staged a massive protest against lack of basic facilities at Emergency Hospital in Qazigund area of Kulgam district in South Kashmir.

The Trades Union Association says that no test facilities like (USG, MRI,CT SCAN) are avibable there.

The Superintendent of Union Trade Association Says in off- recoring “now a day i will take action on all of these problems that people face.

He also added that, “people face more problems in Emergency Hospital Qazigund because people go to private medical labs for testing these tests which consumes a lot of money”.

According to locals, the establishment of an Emergency Hospital on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Qazigund has failed to serve its purpose as emergency patients brought to the hospital continue to be referred to district hospital Anantnag or Srinagar hospitals.

The patients are visiting private clinics of doctors in order to seek consultation for ailments.

“Due to non-availability of basic facilities the poor patients have to shelve money to seek consultation at privately run clinics,” locals said.

He also added that “The governments’s assurance of improving the healthcare facilities in the rural areas falls flat on the ground here as the patients are suffering immensely for want of the doctors.”
