The first group of 145 pilgrims from J&K who performed the Hajj in 2022 returned from Saudi Arabia

Srinagar, 16 July 2022: Over 145 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir returned from the annual Haj pilgrimage today in the first group. According to Executive Officer J&K Hajj Committee Dr. Abdul Salam Mir, 145 Hajis arrived at the Srinagar airport on the first day of Haj arrivals.
The first batch of 145 Hajis, which landed at 7.50 am, were welcomed by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, P K Pole, DIG Central Kashmir Range Sujit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, and J&K Executive Officer Haj Committe Abdul Salaam Mir.
According to him, special arrangements for hassle-free immigration clearance were made at the airport. This year, at least 70,000 pilgrims from India, including 7000 from JK, performed the Hajj. Chairman of the Haj Corporation of India AP Abdul Kuttay and Member of the HCoI Er Aijaz Hussian have been camping in Saudi Arabia since July 4 to address the complaints and get feedback from JK pilgrims. The final flight carrying JK pilgrims to the Haj will land on August 1.
At the international airport, a significant number of Kashmiri Pandits gathered to greet the Hajis and recite Kashmiri Naats, demonstrating the region’s sincere commitment to religious harmony. The Pandits expressed their gratitude to the Hajis and asked for their blessing.
