Suspected IED planted on Sgr-Bandipora highway defused

Bandipora, Mar 19: Government forces on Thursday morning defused a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted near Petrol pump in Nadihal village on Bandipora-Srinagar highway in north Kashmir.

An Army officer told Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the suspected IED was spotted by a Road Opening Party of Armyโ€™s 14 RR unit aroundย 08:00 am today morning

He said the suspected IED was planted inside an iron container under a bridge on Bandipora-Srinagar highway, adding that road opening party of Armyโ€™s 14 RR unit and Explosive Detective Dog (ED Dog) detected the suspicious object.

“The IED was later defused by policeโ€™s bomb disposal squad,” he said.

The traffic movement was halted on Bandipora-Srinagar highway for sometime till the IED was defused.
