Stop undermining DDCs, bring changes in precedence list: Congress to Govt
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (J&KPCC) today termed the J&K Government’s order of placing DDC chairmen, vice-chairmen and members at bottom of precedence list as unfortunate and betrayal with the elected representatives.
In a statement issued to press JKPCC President G. A. Mir has lashed out at BJP Govt for miserably failing to strenthen the Panchayati Raj Institution, saying that the false slogan of empowering democratic institutions has once again exposed the BJP Govt before the people.
G. A.Mir strongly urged the Government to make immediate necessary changes in the precedence list so that the DDC chairmen, vice-chairmen and members do exercise their authority for which they have been chosen and authorized to work for the welfare of people.
We are committed strengthen the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) at all levels. Mir added and said Govt must stop undermining the authority of institutions, in the larger interest of people, at grass roots level.(KNS)
