Srinagar: The central government has released funds to pay salaries of two months of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
A high level committee was constituted by chief secretary to devise a comprehensive strategy to review the issues of all school teachers in the school education department including those funded under the centrally Sponsored Scheme SSA.
“The committee recommended to release of an amount of Rs. 28600 lakhs on account of the salary of SSA teachers,” a spokesman said.
He said acting on the instructions, directorate of Samagra Shiksha released the funds in favour of the concerned chief education officers to clear the salary dues of SSA teachers for the months of February and June 2018.
Meanwhile, state project director (SPD) Samagra Shiksha has instructed the CEOs not to utilize the released funds for arrears and the expenditure should be incurred as per the SSA norms.
“Deviation of funds from one object of expenditure to another is not allowed. The salary shall be released only to the SSA teachers after fulfilling all the codal formalities,” reads a circular issued by the directorate of Samagra Shiksha.
