Srinagar Downtown girl bags Yuva Puraskar award of year for her book

Srinagar, June 24: A young scholar social and cultural activist Dheeba Nazir from Downtown Srinagar has bagged this year’s Yuva Puraskar (young writers award ) for her book Zareen Zakham from the Sahitya Akademi.

Dheeba belongs to middle class family from Downtown Eidgah Srinagar. Dheeba has done her post graduation in three subjects and doing research on Ropi Bhawani–seventeen century mystic poet .

Dheeba was first time felicitated by President of India when she was in class 9th. She has received many awards from Governors of J&K. She has translated three books of Urdu into Kashmiri language which are: Gul Bakawali Dastan, Kuliyaat Abdul Ahad Azad and Kuliyat Ropi Bhawani.
She has completed all these translations at the age of 25. Zareen Zakham is her kashmiri short story collection.This book has won her appreciation in literary circles
She has inspired by her teacher Prof  Naseem Shafaie. She is the member of many literary groups including Kalamkar Smith,Dara Shikoh Centre for art and literature.
Dheeba Nazir is first girl of Srinagar who got Yuva Puraskar Award.

Meanwhile, South Asia Peace Movement Chairman Tariq Bhat has congratulated Dheeba. In his message, Bhat has said that Dheeba has made entire state proud and is an inspiration for others.

“South Asia Peace Movement is always there to help and encourage such youngsters. We will felicitate Dheeba during our upcoming event wherein youngsters who have outstanding performance in their respective fields will be awarded,” Bhat said.
