Sindh Forest Range: Illegal timber seized thrice in a week

Ganderbal: The wanton plunder of green gold continues in various Compartments of Sindh Forest Range Kangan of Ganderbal district.

Forest Protection Force seized timber that was illegally being smuggled for the third time in the span of six days.

A Forest official told KNT that they received information that unknown smugglers have chopped down timber in Sindh Forest Range Kangan of Compartment 3 Akhal Block 2 and around 70 SqFt of Deodar was being taken to another area for sale.

“A team rushed to spot seized the timber, however, smugglers managed to escape from the spot,” he said.

Meanwhile, locals said that smugglers have managed to loot green gold in Akhal, Najwan, and other areas of Kangan while smugglers always manage to escape. “We don’t know who informs these smugglers,” they said. (KNT)
