Police Public Interaction Meeting Cum awareness Program Held in Anatnagh
Police officers hold interaction with general public in Kokernag
SSP Anantnag appeals for joint efforts to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and terrorism.
Police officers from district Anantnag today interacted with people of Kokernag subdivision and discussed host of policing and other issues in a three hour long interaction. District Development Council Member Muneera Jehangir, Block Development Council Members Choudhary Mumtaz and Parveena Akhtar were also present on the occasion,besides other grass roots public representatives from various villages. Many notable people including public representatives who spoke on the occasion appreciated role of police for the relentless efforts and selfless service rendered in combating the COVID 19 pandemic.
They also applauded police department for proactive policing measures against drug traffickers. In a frank and free discussion that lasted for many hours people spoke about their expectations from police department and underlined the need for responsive and people friendly policing with due regard to common people visiting police stations for seeking justice and redressal of their grievances. They also raised some developmental issues which the police officers assured would be taken up with concerned authorities. SSP Anantnag Imtiyaz Hussain, SDPO Kokernag Irshad Ahmad, SHOs or Kokernag and Larnoo Raashid Khan and Nissar Ahmad gave patient hearing to people and appreciated the frank and honest feedback from general public. SSP Anantnag while replying the queries of people assured the prompt redressal of genuine public demands and also stressed on the importance of such interactions and dialogue between police and public for better mutual understanding and improving the deliverance of policing services to people. He also sought cooperation from public to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and terrorism which are the two major issues faced by public in the district.
He informed the people about major crackdown launched by police against drug trafficking modules. People were also informed that District Police shall establish a full fledged Drug Deaddiction centre within a week’s time in Anantnag for treatment of youth consuming drugs. He appealed people to understand their responsibilities as parents and respected members of society to play their role to prevent our young men from getting involved in drug abuse and violence. He assured public of unflinching commitment of J&K Police for public service ensuring prevention and detection of crimes and also making unceasing efforts for safety and security of people to bring complete peace. At the conclusion SDPO Kokernag Irshad Ahmad delivered vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to people for turning up in large numbers and giving their honest feedback.
