Pandit Community Celebrates ‘Janamashtami’ In Anantnag

Anantnag: Janamashtami festival was today celebrated by Hindu community at Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district with religious zeal.

Martand Tirath Trust organised a ‘Janamashtami Procession’ at Mattan area of Anantnag district.

Hundreds of devotees including men, women and children participated in ‘Janamashtami Procession’ and sung Bhajans and shouted slogans, expressing the joy of celebrating the Janamashtami festival.

“Mattan has always been symbol of communal Harmony and we have lived here with people from different communities since many decades now.” said president Martand Tirath Trust

Remember every year ‘Janamashtami Festival’ is celebrated here and a procession is being taken out from Martand Mandir to Chaka Nadi.
