One Cop Succumbs, Two More Injured In Militant Attack Says Police

Srinagar, Jun 20: Police in a statement said thar militants this evening fired upon a police vehicle of IRP 17 Battalion at Galender Pampore in jurisdiction of Police station Pampore when it was moving through the area.

In this incident, three policeman sustained injuries. One of them identified as Ct Tanveer Ahmad with critical injury admitted in the hospital succumbed to his injuries.

The other two injured policemen identified as Ct Muddasir Ahmad and driver SgCT Mohd Ayoub have been also shifted to hospital for treatment and are stated to be stable.

Police has registered a case in this regard and search to nab the terrorists has been initiated. Police pay tribute to the constable Tanveer and stand by the family at this critical juncture.
