NC, PDP bonhomie to keep communal forces at bay a welcome step: Monga

 

Says people from all three regions must unite to defeat such forces

Srinagar, Oct 01 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Monday said that bonhomie between two regional parities including National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in order to keep communal forces away is a welcome step.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), JKPCC vice president, G N Monga said, “The communal forces are threat to the country especially to Jammu and Kashmir. At this juncture, if NC and PDP join hands to keep them at bay is a welcome step.”
He further said that not only the regional parties but the people from all three regions including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh should unite to keep these forces at bay.
“Jammu and Kashmir is known for its communal harmony. We have seen how Muslims and Hindus rescued each other in the year 1947,” he said, adding that the people must unite to defeat these forces.
Earlier, former finance minister and senior PDP leader, Syed Altaf Bukhari and senior NC leader and MLA Kangan, Mian Altaf welcomed the suggestions over the bonhomie of PDP and NC to fight for the protection of Article 35-A and 370.
The suggestions were put forth by Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Coordination Committee (JKCSCC) comprising ANC Senior Vice president Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, Advocate Mir Javaid, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina and others.
The suggested the regional parties forge an alliance at an earliest to fight for the protection of Article 35-A and 370 in the Supreme Court.
