JKSC issues notices to 16 officials, seeks account details of Rs 68 lakh

 

JAMMU, Apr 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) has issued notice to 16 officers of J&K Sports Council seeking accounts details of Rs 68 lakhs, spent on organizing various tournaments.
Interestingly, the notices have also been served to some of the officials who have been retired. They have been asked to provide the account details within a week. The officials received an advance payment of about Rs 68 lakh for the Premier League and the Khelo India competition approximately five years ago, but they have not provided account details.

An advance amount of Rs 67.65 lakh was released by the Council to former Divisional Sports Officer, Jammu, Ashok Singh, for the conduct of Khelo India competitions and Premier League in the year 2018-19 and 2020-21, as per the letter issued on March 14 by Administrative Officer.

The Administrative Officer has now written a letter asking the officers and other employees using the advance amount to share detailed information regarding the advance amount soon; otherwise the amount will be recovered from their retirement fund or salary.

“In view of above, you are requested to please intimate details of officials who have rendered the accounts/expenditure statement of the advances. You are also advised to issue final notice to the defaulter officials/retirees to render the accounts within a week’s time else the amount shall be recovered from their retirement dues/salary. This communication may be treated as final notice,” the Administrative Officer said in a letter.

The advance given for Khelo India competitions to Baljinder Pal Singh Rs 3.00 lacs, S.P. Singh Rs. 2.50 lacs, Krupali Singh Rs. 2.50 lacs, Satpal Singh Rs. 3.50 lacs, Saktish Kumar Rs. 2.625 lacs, Satish Gupta Rs. 3.534 lacs, Ravi Singh Rs. 2.97 lacs and Randhir Singh Rs. 3.50 lacs.

For the Premier League activities Manager K K Hakhu Stadium received Rs. 6.04 lacs, Manager Mini Stadium Parade Rs. 3.99 lacs, Manager Udhampur Stadium Rs. 3.00 lacs, Manager Rajouri Stadium Rs. 3.99 lacs, Manager Poonch Stadium Rs. 3.99 lacs, Manager Kathua Stadium Rs. 3.99 lacs, Sat Pal Singh Rs. 3.99 lacs (Football Coach) and Manager Bana Singh Stadium R.S. Pura Rs. 3.99 lacs.
