Hurriyat (G) Condemns Shifting Of Syeda Aasiya Andrabi And Her Two Associates To Tihar Jail
Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai strongly condemned shifting of Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates Fahmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen to Tihar jail and said it is the worst form of vengeance and political vendetta against the resistance leadership.
Aasiya Andrabi is suffering from multiple ailments, said Sehrai and while decrying unjustified detention of incarcerated Dukhtaran chief and her associates, added, puppet rulers undemocratically, shifted her to Tihar against fake allegations and now prolonging her detention, for pleading the case of suppressed and subjugated nation.
The incarceration, intimidations and leveling fake allegations against leadership and particularly DeM leadership is unacceptable and outcome of vengeance, said Sehrai.
The resistance leaders alleged that the workers and leaders of resistance movement arrested by NIA have been subjected to psychological torture and inhuman treatment by NIA and the authorities in Tihar jail are ill-treating them.
In a statement, Sehrai paid his rich tributes to detained leadership and activists and expressed concern over the “ill and inhuman” treatment meted out to senior resistance leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saif Ullah, Meraj u Din Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Shahid ul Islam, Mohd Aslam Wani, Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Dr Gh Mohd Bhat, Muzafar Ahmad Dar, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Mohammad Shafi Shah, Talib Husain and scores of others.
Sehrai Sahib said that repressive measures, intimidations, harassment, killing and maiming won’t break our resolve or force us to submissions and despite all odds, will pursue sacred mission of martyrs.
Appealing international organizations of human rights, Sehrai impressed to take serious cognizance of the plight of Kashmiri prisoners and asked to visit jails to take on spot notice of apathetic and deteriorating situation in jails especially, Tihar jail. (GNS)
