Hurriyat (G) condemns excessive use of military power against civilians
Srinagar, Jun 27 (KNS): Strongly condemning the excessive use of military power against the civilian people by the Indian occupation forces, Hurriyat Conference (G) said that on the pretext of search and cordon operations common people are deliberately targeted and victimized by the men in uniform.
According to a statement issued to KNS, condemning the vile actions of state-terrorism, Hurriyat Conference said that public delegations from different areas of the Valley revealed that the Indian occupation forces let loose a reign of terror in Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Islamabad, Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora.
“People are harassed, tortured and threatened of dire consequences under the garb of search and cordon operations. In this grim situation the life of common people has became miserable and vulnerable at the hands of massive presence of armed forces, who outnumber the local population in the nook and corner of the state,” the statement said.
While appealing the United Nations Human Rights Commission to take cognizance of the gross violation of human rights at the hands of Indian occupation forces in Jammu and Kashmir, the Hurriyat Conference (G) reiterated its demand that the civilized nations of the international community must rise to the occasion to help eradicate such gruesome human rights violations and must not leave the 100 million population of Jammu and Kashmir at the mercy of 8 lakh Indian military personnel present in the state.
Taking a pledge to carry forward the ongoing movement for right to self-determination, Hurriyat conference paid its rich tributes to the exemplary sacrifices given by the nation for its sacred mission of right to self-determination. Keeping in view the highest graph of the sacrifices contributed by a small nation like ours, Hurriyat Conference (G) said that the volume of our sacrifices makes it mandatory for the leadership and the people in general to take this movement to its logical conclusion without making any compromise.
Hurriyat Conference (G) hailed the strong commitment and steadfastness of the nation for its sacred mission and said that the United Nations Organization to fulfill its obligations and responsibilities to solve this long pending issue in accordance with its agreed resolutions.
