Historic Premiere of Ground Zero in Srinagar: A Tribute to Courage and Resilience

April 18, 2025 — Srinagar witnessed a momentous occasion as the historic red carpet premiere of Excel Entertainment’s Ground Zero unfolded amidst much fanfare. This marks the first film premiere in the Valley after 38 years, making it a landmark event for the region and its people.

 

 

 

 

The premiere was graced by BSF Jawans, who walked the red carpet alongside the film’s team, including Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, and producers Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and co-producer Arhan Bagati. Held at a BSF facility, the event celebrated one of the Border Security Force’s most legendary real-life missions, now brought to life on the big screen.

 

 

 

 

Speaking exclusively to ANN News, Emraan Hashmi said, “This premiere is not just for the film, but for the brave men and women who protect our nation. Their courage inspired this story, and it’s an honor to bring it to Srinagar.”

 

 

 

Local artists and community members were equally moved by the event. Gulzar Ahmad, a Kashmiri craftsman who attended the screening, shared his thoughts with ANN News:

 

 

 

 

“It feels like the Valley is reconnecting with the world through cinema. This premiere is a beacon of hope for local artists and a reminder of Kashmir’s cultural richness.”

 

 

 

 

 

Sai Tamhankar, who plays the wife of Emraan Hashmi’s character, expressed her excitement to ANN News:

Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, Ground Zero is an action-packed thriller set against the backdrop of Kashmir. The film explores the life of BSF commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, portrayed by Emraan Hashmi, and his mission to protect the nation.

 

 

 

 

 

The premiere marks a significant cultural revival for Srinagar, rekindling the Valley’s connection to Bollywood. Local attendees expressed their hope that this event would pave the way for more such celebrations in the region.
