Hair Clinic running with registration of Dental Clinic in Srinagar closed

Srinagar, May 16, 2024 (Hadi Hidayat) — The Foliage Hair Expert Clinic in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, has been found operating without proper registration. This was discovered during a surprise inspection by a team of doctors on May 15, 2024, following an online complaint registered through LG Grievance Portal.

Adding to the violations, it was found that the clinic was operating under the registration of a dental clinic.

The Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office reported that the clinic was running without notifying the authorities, a violation of the Jammu and Kashmir Clinical Establishment Rules, 2020. The rules state that running an unregistered clinic can result in fines up to fifty thousand rupees for the first offense and up to five lakh rupees for repeated violations. Staff working knowingly in such clinics can also face fines up to twenty-five thousand rupees.

The said clinic has reportedly performed many hair transplant surgeries with unsatisfactory results, prompting a patient to file a complaint through the LG Grievance Portal. This complaint led to the inspection by the CMO Srinagar officials, revealing the clinic’s lack of registration from the proper authorities.

The CMO’s office has ordered the clinic to stop operations immediately and respond within three days. Further non-compliance will lead to more severe penalties. This action underscores the importance of adhering to registration requirements for medical establishments in the region.

Following this, the authorities have ordered closure of clinic till further orders. — (ANN)
