Father Killed In Militant Attack, Son Announced His Resignation From SPO Job

Qazigund: Following a string of abductions of family members of policemen, a special police officer (SPO) has left his job and returned home in Panzath Village of Qazigund township in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

SPO Faisal Ahmad Shah Son Of Abdul Rashid Shah has announced his resignation at a local mosque.

Faisal Ahmed Shah is the brother of Zohra whose photo had went viral over media channels after her father was killed by unknown Gunmen in August last year at Mehandi Kadal area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad township.

On Friday, the head cleric of Jamia Masjid Panzath had received a letter from the SPO stating he had quit his job.

While reading the letter, the cleric said: “The SPO has announced voluntary retirement from his services and is seeking public apology.”

A Police official said that they are ascertaining the details of the incident.
