Farooq Abdullah won’t contest Lok Sabha polls due to health reasons: Omar Abdullah

National Conference president and sitting MP from Srinagar Farooq Abdullah will not contest the Lok Sabha polls due to his heath issues, the party said on Wednesday.
The announcement was made by his son and party vice-president Omar Abdullah during a block convention in Rawalpora area of Srinagar.
Omar Abdullah said that Dr Farooq has taken permission from party’s general secretary Ali Mohammad)Sagar and other party members to not contest the polls due to health issues.
NC is yet to announce its candidates from Srinagar and Baramulla Lok Sabha constituencies, while it has declared former minister and ex legislator from Kangan Mian Altaf as the party candidate from Anantnag-Rajouri seat. (KNS)
