Empty Stomach School Kids Faint After Spending Extra 3 Hours In School
Srinagar: When you send your little children to school at 7 in the morning empty stomach and school authorities will force them to stay three hours extra in the school on the pretext of quiz program, you can yourself imagine the condition of those kids who are usually habitual of consuming junk food a couple of times in a day.
This is what was done on Friday by authorities at RP School located at Nagabal area in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
Many little kids fainted due to hunger and were shifted to hospital for treatment.
“We spent over two hours on bus stop in scorching heat, waiting for our children to return from the school. I found my 3rd class girl student lying unconscious in the school bus and when I called the Principal RP School, he said children were sent to home a couple of hours late due to a quiz program. It was the responsibility of the school to inform us. It was half-day and we had not given lunch boxes to our children. They not only put the lives of empty stomach little kids at risk but also caused inconvenience to scores of parents by not informing them in advance,” one Abid Nazir Fazli told news agency CNS.
“The school authorities will send you text message four days in advance when it comes to submission of fee but they don’t bother to care about other things. My hungry child came to her senses in the hospital after doctors administered her some medicine. The doctors in their report said that the child fainted due to hunger and humidity. We parents suffered just because of the callous attitude and carelessness of the school authorities,” Fazli added.
Principal RP School, Muzaffar Ahmed Bhat told CNS that they could not inform the parents in time as their website is out of order. He added that no student fainted in the school.
Deputy Director Department of School Education said they will act if parents lodge a complaint against the school authorities. (CNS)
