District Police Anantnag Launches Market Checking Drive to Curb Sale of Unhygienic and Rotten Food Items

Anantnag, September 4:
In compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble High Court and as part of a district-wide drive against unhygienic and sub-standard food items, Anantnag Police today carried out extensive market checking across the district in coordination with officials of the Food Safety Department.
During the drive, several food outlets and vendors were inspected to ensure that no rotten or unfit material is kept for sale. The joint teams of Police and Food Safety officials checked markets at Anantnag town and other major locations of the district.
The aim of the drive is to safeguard the health of the public and ensure strict compliance with food safety norms. District Police Anantnag has assured that such market checking drives will continue in the coming days and strict legal action will be taken against those found selling sub-standard or unhygienic food items.
