Delay in release of 7th pay commission, delinking of SSA salary will prove counterproductive for education system: Qayoom Wani
Srinagar, Jun 14 (KNS): An extraordinary meeting of Teachers joint action committee an amalgam of Jammu and Kashmir teachers forum, Jammu and Kashmir ReT teachers forum, SSA teachers association and Tehrek-e-Rehbar taleem teachers forum was held at the Central office under the chair of chairman teachers joint committee Ab Qayoom Wani.
In the meeting three tier strategy was chalked out to resolve the issue of delinking of SSA salary and immediate release of 7th pay commission in favour of SSA teachers , Head teachers and RMSA masters. In the meeting the suggestions were invited for making 19th June programme “peaceful sit in” at share Kashmir park Srinagar for 24 hrs .powerful, Result oriented and successful.
In the meeting every leader showed serious concern on the pathetic condition of ssa teachers and its negative effect on the educational atmosphere of the state. The chairman TJAC Ab. Qayoom Wani said that TJAC never believed in confrontation and never wanted to push anybody to the wall. We believe in negotiations and negotiations have always yielded better results.
Chairman TJAC Ab. Qayoom Wani said that the way ex education Minister and present Finance minister Syed Mohd Altaf Bukhari understood the pulse of the department and resolved some chronic issues of education department in a short span of time with positive mind set and commitment to restore the honour and dignity of teachers. He has also assured for the redressal of the issue of delinking of SSA salary once for all.
Wani said that teachers fraternity is hopeful that the ex. Edu minister and present Finance minster will uphold his commitment which he has made with the representatives of TJAC and will also keep his assurance that finance will never become a hurdle in resolving this issue and has agreed in principle to resolve both the issues at the earliest for which teachers fraternity is waiting for.
Wani said that the way Chief minister took personal interest in resolving the big issue of 7th pay commission along with arrears without any confrontation is quiet appreciable but depriving some sections of builders of nation from the benefit of 7th pay commission put a bad taste in it and builders of nation( SSA teachers, head teachers) have been put in mental trauma and social problems.
Wani said that Present education minister Choudhary Zulfikar Ali and his team is showing personal interest and is making efforts with helpful and positive attitude but delay in releasing 7th pay commission in favour of SSA teachers has become a cause of concern and cause of confrontation which needs immediate redressal.
TJAC leaders said that if the government really cares for the future of the state and builders of nation and honor and dignity of builders of nation then it should come up with a onetime resolution to the delinking issue and immediate release of 7th pay commission in favour of SSA teachers and head teachers. So that the teachers may feel a sigh of relief and will put their sweat and blood for shaping the future generation.
Wani urged upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for personal intervention into the sensitive issue of releasing 7th pay commission in favour of SSA, teachers and head teachers besides delinking of SSA salary.
Wani also urged upon the worthy chief secretary B. B Viyas who has been nominated as chairman of the committee by the Chief Minister will use his expertise and employees friendly attitude for the redressal of this issue once for all.
Wani also appealed the teaching fraternity not to use any unparliamentarily language against anybody whether at the helm of affairs or at organizational level and said that such uncivilized behavior can harm the cause.. TJAC assured the SSA teachers, head teachers, RMSA master that TJAC will continue its struggle at all fronts till the resolution of the issue and said that we are hopeful for early redressal of these chronic issues.
Wani said that our struggle with strategy, sincerity, maturity and unity will yield better results and appealed the state, provincial, district and zonal level representatives of all the organizations affiliated with TJAC to gear up their units for result oriented struggle for common causes
