DC Poonch holds meeting with stakeholders regarding roll out of Property Tax
Informs about exemption for rural areas, small houses, shops in Municipal area
POONCH, FEBRUARY 24: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch Inderjeet convened a meeting at the Municipal Office to discuss the rollout of Property Tax and exemptions for certain properties.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Municipal Council of Poonch, Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, and the Ward Councilors.
During the course of the meeting, all the property tax slabs were thoroughly discussed and it was made clear that there would be no tax on any small house up to 1000 square feet. Moreover, there would be a meager tax for those people who have houses beyond 1500 square meters. Likewise there would also be a mea
ger calculation of tax on small business establishments. There will be no tax on religious institutions, the house was informed.
It was also made clear that the tax amount would be used entirely for local area development in the same ward or area from which it is collected.
All the stakeholders present in the meeting also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the administration for giving clear information and facts regarding the property tax. They have also assured the Deputy Commissioner of full support from the people of all the 2 Municipalities.
Speaking on the occasion, President Municipal Council Poonch emphasised on the importance of information dissemination regarding various aspects of newly introduced property tax and assured of enhanced developmental amenities in lieu of tax.
