Covid graphs shows a significant dip in past 24 Hrs: 43 deaths, 3848 positive cases

Srinagar, May 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Friday witnessed 43 deaths due to Covid-19 while 3,848 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 49,893.

With 43 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,465 and 3,848 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 263,905. The significant dip in mortality and positive cases has come as a slight breather for the people of J&K who are hoping for the further improvement in the situation in the weeks ahead.

Of the exact number of 263,905 cases, 161,753 are from Kashmir division and 102,152 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 3,848 new cases, 2,406 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,442 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 161,753 including 130,635 recoveries and 1,826 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 102,152 including 79,912 recoveries and 1,639 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 49,893 including 29,292 from Kashmir division and 20,601 from Jammu division.

With 4,466 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 210,547 which is 79.78 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 598 rom Srinagar, 320 from Baramulla, 344 from Budgam, 224 from Pulwama, 204 from Kupwara, 303 from Anantnag, 105 from Bandipora, 125 from Ganderbal, 121 from Kulgam and 62 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,442 from Jammu division include 401 from Jammu, 160 from Udhampur, 155 from Rajouri, 58 from Doda, 130 from Kathua, 163 from Samba, 30 from Kishtwar, 48 from Poonch, 201 from Ramban and 96 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Out of 43 deaths reported today, 13 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GMC Doda, 03 in GMC Kathua, 01 in GH Gandhi Nagar Jmu, 01 in CH Udhampur, 01 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in CHC Ramnagar, 01 in CHC Surankote, 01 in DH Reasi, 01 in DH Poonch, 01 in PGI Chandigarh, 01 in SMGS Jmu, 01 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in SKIMS Soura, 05 in SMHS Sgr, 02 in CHC Tangdar, 01 in GMC Anantnag, 03 in GMC Baramulla, 01 in CD Hosp Srinagar, 01 in SDH Sopore & 02 in JLNM Sgr.

As per officials figures, 61,138 positive cases including 722 deaths and 53,532 recoveries are from Srinagar, 19,376 including 234 deaths and 16,192 recoveries are from Baramulla, 18,000 including 13,430 recoveries and 161 deaths are from Budgam, 11,596 including 9,064 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Pulwama, 10,216 including 132 deaths and 8,246 recoveries are from Kupwara, 12,800 including 8,154 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Anantnag, 7,657 cases including 6,429 and 82 deaths are from Bandipora, 7,526 including 6,339 recoveries and 65 deaths are from Ganderbal, 8,590 including 5,495 recoveries and 89 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,854 including 3,754 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 46,750 including 38,312 recoveries and 919 deaths are from Jammu district, 9,836 including 8,085 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Udhampur, 8,778 including 5,252 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,032 including 3,876 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Doda, 8,050 including 6,656 recoveries and 112 deaths are from Kathua, 6,235 including 3,770 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Samba, 3,722 including 3,318 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,616 including 3,349 recoveries and 73 deaths are from Poonch, 4,310 including 3,135 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Ramban and 4,823 including 4,159 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,008,800 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 74,479 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 49,893 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,748,743 persons have completed surveillance period and 132,220 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,140,035 samples are available. Out of 8,140,035 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,876,131 while as 263,950 have tested positive, among them 49,893 persons are active, 210,547 persons have recovered and 3,465 persons have died.
