Clashes Erupt During CASO At Shopian Village; Internet Services Shut

Shopian: Intense clashes erupted between government forces and youths at Guglura area of Pinjoora village in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday afternoon.

Intense clashes erupted after government forces launched (CASO) cordon and search operation in the village following the specific inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Reports said, soon after the (CASO) cordon and search operation was launched in the village youths took to streets and started pelting stones on government forces after which forces resort to aerial firing to disperse them.

Search operation was going on in Pinjoora village when this report was filed.

Meanwhile, internet services were snapped down in Shopian district as a precautionary measure.
