CIK Cracks Down on Terror Network Using Encrypted Messaging App: Links Traced to Pak-Based JeM/LeT Handler ‘Abdullah Gazi’

In a major intelligence-led operation, Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) of J&K Police carried out meticulously planned searches at multiple locations across Budgam, Pulwama, Ganderbal, and Srinagar in connection with a terror financing and recruitment module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Investigators revealed that several suspects were using a specific encrypted messaging application—commonly exploited by terrorists and handlers for recruitment, funding, and coordination of attacks. Technical surveillance traced direct communication with ‘Abdullah Gazi,’ a notorious terror handler operating from Pakistan in collaboration with the ISI.
The crackdown, backed by a warrant from the NIA-designated court, led to the seizure of vital digital devices and documents, with 10 suspects detained so far. The data retrieved is expected to provide key leads to further dismantle the terror ecosystem targeting Kashmiri youth.
Authorities emphasize the operation’s primary goal is prevention — to save Kashmiri youth from falling into the trap of radicalization and ensure legal action against Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and terrorist facilitators.
