KCCI Delegation Meets LG Manoj Sinha, Raises Key Trade & Tourism Concerns
Srinagar, October 25, 2025:
A delegation of the Executive Committee of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), led by President Mr. Javid Ahmad Tenga, met Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan for an introductory meeting with the newly elected office bearers and executive committee members.
The Hon’ble LG extended warm congratulations to the new team and assured full support for resolving issues impacting trade, commerce, and industry in Kashmir.
Among the key concerns raised was the suspension of Air India’s cargo services to Gulf countries from Srinagar Airport, which has caused major difficulties for exporters in meeting delivery commitments and resulted in financial losses.
The KCCI delegation also expressed gratitude to the LG for promoting the handicrafts sector, noting that awards and recognition for artisans and weavers have significantly boosted industry morale.
In addition, discussions were held on initiatives to enhance tourism, including a proposed roadshow in Mumbai and a meeting with Ambassadors in Delhi to improve Kashmir’s global visibility and address international travel advisories.
