“Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” Awearness Camp Held In GDC Bijbehara

Anantnag: Awearness Camp about “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” was organized today by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bijbehara in collaboration with Girls welfare and Health Committee of Govt. Degree College Bijbehara.

The Awearness Camp was Inaugurated by Mrs. Umi kulsoom, Sub Judge/Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bijbehara.

While addressing the gathering, Mrs. Umi Kulsooma said that Girl is the ray of hope not only for the parents but two families and the nation as a whole.

She stressed that each of us in the society has to pledge that every girl should be given the respect at the highest and should be given equal rights in the society.

She also laid focus on the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme launched for the welfare of girls and urged them to come forward to avail benefits of this scheme.

On the occasion few lawyers and students of the college also expressed their views on the topic.

While adressing the gathering on the concluding segment, worthy Principal of GDC Bijbehara Prof. Nazir Ahmad Chiraag stressed on the importance of education for girls and said that an educated girl can contribute both towards the progress of family as well as country.

He further said that such awareness camps would help in ensuring empowerment of women through education and equal participation in all the fields.

The Proceedings of the awearness camp were carried out by 1st Semester students Miss Iffat Ara and Miss Khalida Jan under the supervision of female faculty members of college headed by Prof. Ruquiya Shakeel.
