Baghat Police sensitize public on COVID19, distribute free facemasks, sanitizers

Srinagar, Aug 25: Baghat Police on Wednesday positioned itself at various vantage points in localities falling within its jurisdiction, distributing masks free of cost to those who were found not wearing them during the ongoing pandemic period
A team lead SHO Raies Hassan positioned at Baghat Chowk distributing masks and sanitizers free of cost among locals and commuters.
The free distribution of masks was carried out places, including Baghat Chowk, Barzulla and in its interior areas. This awareness drive was carried under the banner of District Police Srinagar.
“Some people found in public places without wearing masks were advised to wear it in the wake of the surge in COVID19 cases so as to guard themselves from getting infected,” said an official.
Under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary, Police has intensified its efforts in district to reach out needy people amid pandemic besides creating awareness among public on the coronavirus.
The people at large have lauded the efforts of Baghat Police in making efforts in spreading awareness about pandemic and distributing free facemasks and sanitizers among public to encourage them for following COVID19 safety guidelines.
