Advisor Farooq Khan reviews working of Enforcement Wing, APFWD Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today reviewed the working of enforcement wing of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department APFWD, Kashmir, with Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal and other senior officers.
Director briefed the meeting regarding the samples drawn from the pesticide companies and action taken against the defaulters. He informed that a comprehensive roadmap has been adopted by the department during the current year to curb the menace of spurious pesticides. Besides, district-level monitoring committees have been constituted which work in collaboration with the central level monitoring team constituted at directorate level. He further apprised that 2383 samples have been drawn since January 2021 till date besides 10 prosecutions have been initiated against the defaulters.
Appreciating the work of the Enforcement Wing of the department, Advisor asked the Director to initiate requisite measures for further improving the functioning of the agency.
The director informed the Advisor that refrigerated vans and seedling sale outlets had been put in place in the Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir, Lalmandi, to provide fresh vegetables and fresh seedlings to the common people on the eve of Eid Festival.(KNS)
