MHA orders transfer of Vijay Kumar to Delhi Segment of AGMUT Cadre

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In a major move, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order, Vijay Kumar, from Jammu and Kashmir to the Delhi Segment of the AGMUT Cadre.

In an official order, the MHA stated, “Vijay Kumar, a 1997-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, is hereby transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to the Delhi Segment of the AGMUT Cadre with immediate effect.”

Kumar, who has been serving as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law and Order in Jammu and Kashmir since November 2023, previously held the position of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir for nearly four years.

He was appointed as IGP Kashmir in December 2019, succeeding S P Pani. — (KIMS)
