PDP To Hold Emergency Meet On Civic Polls On Monday

All MLAs, MLCs to be taken board, no decision on participation in civic polls yet

Srinagar: PDP has decided to call a meeting of the top office bearers, MLAs and MLCs of the party on Monday next week to take a decision on participation in upcoming municipal and panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) PDP Chief Spokesman Rafi Ahmad Mir said ‘Party has convened a meeting of its top office bearers, MLAs and MLCs to take a decision on participation in Panchayat and municipal elections in the state.

Though no decision has been taken by the party on its participation in upcoming municipal and panchayat elections but party once again appeals both the central and state governments to take a serious view of the serious concerns of the people on the petitions filed against Article 35-A in the Supreme Court.

PDP believes in democracy and participation in the elections but a final decision on participation in municipal and panchayat elections will taken after taking into views of all MLAs, MLCs and top office bearers in a meeting called on Monday.(KNS)
