Cyber Police takes cognizance of ‘hatred video’ on social media, FIR registered
Srinagar: A police spokesman Saturday said Cyber police station reliably learnt that one Facebook user has uploaded video clips wherein the subject is seen addressing general public by using “language invoking disaffection against nation”.
“The videos have been uploaded to bring hatred and contempt against the government established by law and intended to outrage feelings of law abiding citizens and promoting enmity between different groups,” he said.
The activity of the subject is prejudicial to maintain of peace and harmony, intends to outrage religious feelings of different classes, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, FIR No. 07/2020 under relevent sections of law has been registered and investigating is set into motion.
The spokesman advised general public not to circulate fake news/ hatred on social media platforms.
“Any person found indulging in such activities will be dealt with strictly under law,” he added.
