One Terrorist Killed, Army JCO Injured in Kulgam Gunfight
Srinagar, Sept 8 (JKNS): The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps on Monday said that a terrorist was killed and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) injured during an ongoing anti-terror operation in the Guddar forest area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
In a post on X, the Chinar Corps, as per news agency JKNS, wrote that the operation, codenamed Op Guddar, was launched jointly by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF following specific intelligence provided by the J&K Police.
“Vigilant troops observed suspicious movement in the forest area. When challenged, the terrorists opened fire, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire,” the post read.
It further stated that during the exchange of fire, one terrorist was eliminated while an Army JCO sustained injuries. “The operation is still in progress,” the Army added.
