3 Youth’s Joined Militant Ranks In Anantnag, Pictures Went Viral On Social Media

Anantnag: Three more educated youth’s from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have joined militant ranks and their pictures with AK-47 have gone viral on Social Media.

According to photographs that went viral on Social Media, three youth’s have joined LeT (Lashkar-i-Toiba) militant outfit. Among them two identified as Basit Ahmad Mir and Tariq Ahmad Khan belong to Main Town, Anantnag and one belong to Arwani village of Anantnag district.

According to photographs, Basit Ahmad Mir, S/o Ishtiyaq Ahmad Mir, R/o Khanabal, Anantnag was B.Sc 1st Year student at Govt. Degree College, Khanabal before joining LeT (Lashkar-i-Toiba) militant outfit on 1st August 2018. According to photograph his code name is Abu Aayan. Second youth, Tariq Ahmad Khan, S/o Nazir Ahmad Khan, R/o Lal Chowk, Anantnag had passed 12th before joining LeT (Lashkar-i-Toiba) militant outfit on 5th August 2018. According to photograph his code name is Abu Saad and Third youth identified as Waris Ahmad Malik, S/o Bashir Ahmad Malik, R/o Arwani, Anantnag was doing job in Saudi Arabia and he had come home eight months back and was working as a driver before joining LeT (Lashkar-i-Toiba) militant outfit on 4th August 2018. According to photograph his code name is Jibraan Bhai.

According to sources Tariq Ahmad Khan was missing since encounter took place in Anantnag town on 25th July 2018. Basit Ahmad Mir and Waris Ahmad Malik were missing from last one week and four days respectively.

The trio has emerged as a new face of militancy in Anantnag district since their photographs have widely gone viral on Social Media.

The trio joined militant ranks after Anantnag’s Main Town witnessed an encounter after two decades in which two militants were killed.

In 2018 alone, more than 115 youth’s have joined different militant outfits so far in Kashmir valley particularly in Southern districts.

Many incidents were witnessed when parents appealed their young ones to shun the path of gun and return home and some returned home after listening to parents appeal and some rejected as well.
