Zewan Attack: 2 among 16 injured cops succumb, 14 being treated, 1 critical
Srinagar, Dec 13 : At least two policemen succumbed and fourteen being treated among one is critical as militants attack a police bus in Zewan area of Srinagar outskirts on Monday.
Sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that militants fired indiscriminately at the vehicle of 9th battalion Indian Reserve Police (IRP) at Zewan area of Srinagar in which fifteen policemen sustained injuries.
“All the injured sixteen cops were referred to 92 base hospital for treatment,” they said, two cops identified as ASi Ghulam Hassan and SgCT Safique Ali have succumbed to injuries and one is critical.
A police official identified the injured cops to Kashmir Dot Com as, Sajad Ahmad, Rameez Ahmad, Bishamber Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Abdul Majeed, Mudassir Ahmad, Ravi Kanth, Showkat Ali, Arshid Ahmad, Satveer Sharma, Liaqat Ali and Aadil Ali, all are constables of 9th Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir armed police.
