Youth Suffers Bullet Injury In Shopian Clashes, Referred To Srinagar
Srinagar: A youth was injured after being hit by a bullet in ongoing clashes near the site of a gunfight in Kapran area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.
Reports said that youth took to streets in Batagund village as soon as the news of gunfight spread in the area.
They said that the forces used live ammunition, pellets and tear gas to break up the protests, leaving at least one youth wounded.
A source said that the youth, identified as Faizan Ahmad, was rushed to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for treatment. He said that a bullet grazed his head.
At least four militants and an army soldier were killed in the ongoing gunfight which broke out at 1:30 am following a search operation launched by the forces.
