Young Police officers sensitize public on COVID19, distribute free facemasks

Srinagar, June 2: Amid surge in COVID19 cases, young Police Officers in Srinagar City embarked on an awareness drive besides distributing masks to those who were found without masks in public places here on Wednesday.

Teams of Police lead by respective SHOs positioned themselves at various vantage points all over the city distributing masks free of cost to those who were found not wearing them during the ongoing pandemic period.

The free distribution of masks was carried out places, including Baghat, Chanapora, Safa Kadal, Sonwar and TRC. These awareness drive were carried under the directions and supervision of SHO Saddar Police Station Baghat Rais Ahmad, SHO Police Station Safa Kadal Tanveer Ahmad and, SHO Police Station Ram Munshibagh Rashid Malik.

“Some people found in public places without wearing masks were advised to wear it in the wake of the surge in COVID19 cases so as to guard themselves from getting infected,” said an official.

Under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary, Police has intensified its efforts in district to reach out needy people amid pandemic besides creating awareness among public on the coronavirus.
