Windstorms, Hail Damage Apple Crop In Pulwama
Pulwama: Bad weather has plunged orchardists in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district into desperation as the crop has been severely damaged due to hail and windstorms.
The apple orchards in the Tral, Lassipora, Awantipora, Rajpora, Murran, Abhama and adjoining villages were destroyed by the hails and windstorms that hit the villages today evening.
The windstorms have left the fruit growers in the lurch as the strong winds uprooted many fruit trees and blew away fruits in many villages of pulwama
Hailstorm destroyed over 90% crops of apple fruits & rice,” said a local. “We are helpless and now government is the only hope for us,” he added
