Why is BJP hesitating from holding elections in J&K: M Y Tarigami
Jammu, Dec 09 : Senior CPI (M) leader and former MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami on Friday said that why was BJP hesitating and running away from holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said Jammu and Kashmir is without a popular government for the last four years and that BJP was interfering in every institution of the country for their political gains.
“It is regretful BJP is ruling over the country but at the same time it is running away in holding assembly elections in J&K. Since 2018 there is no assembly which is unfortunate and unconstitutional,” Tarigami said.
He said countrymen are being befooled in the name of Kashmir, investments and development.
“The BJP government is misleading the entire country in the name of Kashmir. They are talking of investment. I want to ask them where is that? Ask people of Jammu what they had been promised for and what they are reaping now?”, he said.
He added inflation, unemployment and other issues emerged in BJP rule, however, people of Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country came to know the other side of this party which was hidden so far.
About assembly polls, he said elections will be held sooner or later but it is up to people of J&K to determine which party should be brought to chair and which should be shown the door.
He said after reorganisation of J&K, the BJP started revision of voter list and left no stone unturned to manipulate the data, however, the opposition parties showed unity and alertness and foiled their nefarious designs. (KNS)
