Wastoorvan: Famed Tourist trekking place needs promotion demanding locals

Srinagar: The famous scenic spot of Wastoorvan here has become a major tourist attraction,People of the areas like Tral, Shar Shali, Wahab Sahab, Khrew, Ladhoo, Lethpora, Awantipora and adjoining areas are now expecting that the mesmerizing beauty of this scenic spot with green forests and lofty mountains will be explored further and the government will make every effort to promote tourism in the area.

While talking with ANN NEWS NETWORK one of the local resident/Trekker from tral namely ‘Zuhaib Ashfaq’ said that the spot is beautiful as Tarsar Marsar,Gulmarg,Sonmarg and Doodhpathri etc. adding that authorities of tourism department few years ago carried a survey in the area and prepared a detailed project report (DPR) but till date nothing was heard what happened to the DPR.He however, said that though they are in favor of infrastructure for tourists, but that should not be at the cost of environment.

They said since then, people were continuously demanding the building of the road link and other establishments..The place is ateast 12 Kms away from wahab Sahab khaar, if a path is opened for movement of horses and facility of drinking water is made available it can attract a huge number of trekkers and also create employment opportunities for local youth,” he said,

 Locals further said that the Tourist department should also immediately take up the development of Nagiberan, Aripal,Shikargah and Branipathri as eco-tourism destinations as was promised by them.
