According to Punjab Police, one Station House Officer (SHO) was killed during the confrontation, while TLP claimed that police opened direct fire on their protesters — a claim that remains unverified.

Journalist Jehanzeb, reporting from the scene after the operation, described the situation as “devastating.” He told BBC Urdu,

“The area looks completely destroyed — burnt vehicles are scattered everywhere. The main TLP container has been set ablaze, and smoke is still rising from it. The rally has been completely dispersed, and no TLP workers are visible at the site.”

He added that the ground is littered with bullet shells and tear gas canisters, while clothes and belongings of the TLP workers remain scattered.

“The smell of tear gas still lingers in the air, making it difficult to stand here for long,” he said. “Local residents are arriving to witness the aftermath and take pictures of the scene.”

Authorities have begun clearing the Grand Trunk (GT) Road, which has been partially reopened for light traffic, while heavy police presence remains in the area.
