Vaccination drive for 18 and above persons starting in district Samba from June 16, 2021

SAMBA JUNE 15: After 100% vaccination of 45 and above age category, Samba Administration today formally announced that the vaccination drive for 18-44 year age category will start in the district from tomorrow.

Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, while briefing media persons, announced that the vaccination drive for 18 year and above age category will begin from Wednesday at designated 15 vaccination centres.

The Deputy Commissioner said, “18 year and above age category will be vaccinated from tomorrow for which an elaborate order has also been issued.” She said the high risk group will be given priority for the vaccination at the vaccination centres which include Shopkeepers, Media Persons, Street Vendor (Rehari&Phari walas), Restaurant workers, Industrial workers, Lawyers and others”

In addition to the High Risk Group, the general public with 18 year and above age can also take vaccination, but by taking prior appointment through the COWIN app, she added.

 The Deputy Commissioner also mentioned that the vaccination drive for 18+ category age will be reviewed after one week to take further necessary action, if required. “The vaccination centres have been established in a way that maximum areas of the district are covered,” she added.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the public to strictly follow covid safety protocol at vaccination centres by wearing face masks and maintaining social distance.
