UP man held with pistol in south Kashmir’s Bijbehara: police

Srinagar, Nov 29: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a Uttar Pradesh resident along with a pistol and a magazine in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Quoting a senior police officer, news agency GNS reported that Parvaiz Salmani, son of Shameem Salmani, a resident of Fareedpur Maan Bijnoor in Uttar Pradesh presently residing in Goriwan Bijbehara was held by the police. A pistol and a magazine were recovered from his possession at a salon in Goriwan area.

An investigation in this regard has been initiated, the officer added.
