Unknown Gunman Shot & Injured Imam In Pulwama Village

Pulwama: Unknown gunman today morning fired upon & injured 40-year-old imam at Parigam village of South Kashmir’s  Pulwama district.
The injured imam (Religious Preacher) has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Thukroo, Son of Mohammad Jamaal Thukroo, Resident of Guree village in Bijbehara town of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Presently, he is General Secretary of Islamic Group ”Tanzim-ul-Madaris Alhi Sunnat Wa Jamaat Jammu & Kashmir.

He is also founder of “Darsgah Noor-e-Irfan” in Bijbehara town of Anantnag district.

He is known for delivering sermons on Friday (Congregational) Prayers at Jamia Masjid in Parigam village of Pulwama district.

Reports said imam has received bullets in both of his legs.

He was shifted to Pulwama hospital for treatment, where from he was reffered to SKIMS, Soura for advanced treatment.

Later, he was shifted to JVC, Hospital Bemina where his condition is said to be stable.

One of his relative told that Imam is now out of danger and is under medical treatment.

Moreover many of his followers visited hospital to know about his health condition.
