Two teachers dismissed from service in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 30: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday dismissed two teachers from the School Education Department under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India, citing reasons of state security.

According to separate government orders issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the Lieutenant Governor ordered the dismissal of Maajid Iqbal Dar, teacher in the School Education Department and resident of Ward No.1, Kheora, District Rajouri, and Gh Hussain, teacher in the School Education Department and resident of Kalwa Mulass, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi.

The orders state that the Lieutenant Governor was satisfied, after considering the facts and circumstances of each case, that their activities were such as to warrant dismissal from service.

The orders further note that “in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry” in the cases of the two officials. “Both dismissals took effect immediately,” the orders added.(KNS)
